We left O'Hare airport on 2/17 around 7:30 p.m. MI time and arrived in Reykjavik on Sun am at 6:40 am (5 hrs time diff)/

Blue Lagoon is straight down from the Keflavik airport, about a 45 minute drive, near the town of Grindavik.

We ate breakfast at the airport-nice pastries, chocolate milk/coffee & fruit. Then our transport arrived to take us to Blue Lagoon.

Yes, we were tired, but excited for our first views and experience in Iceland!

We learned on our ride over that the moss growing on the lava rock is part of the fragile ecosystem

These are pictures from outside the facility as I did not take my phone in the water. It was beautiful!

The water appears blue because of the silica and the way it reflects light.

Mya snapped a few shots inside. Yes, it was a bit steamy.

After our wonderful in-water massage. Next we enjoyed our facial masks and "free" drink.
