This was a surprise destination for Terri. Denny gave her a Travelocity gnome for Christmas in 2010 - date uncertain. In February, she got to choose from 3 different available dates and she chose the June date. We left on June 15th and our first stop was in Charleston, WV. We always enjoyed driving by their State Capitol, so we were able to take lots of pictures this time. Terri remarked that it was a shame we were so close to her sister, Lynn, and perhaps if we called, she could meet us for dinner. Little did she know, that was our next stop. She was happy the next morning when Denny revealed that she would be seeing her that evening! The Richardson's were in on the surprise destination and at dinner that evening - at Hungry Mother Park, Denny spilled the beans about the final destination. :) On Friday, we made a side trip to Mabry Mil, a favorite spot on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. The Mountain Lake Resort, one of the locations for filming of the movie "Dirty Dancing" provided some much needed relaxation and was very scenic.
