We left the rental in Venice and began our family visits. First we visited Terri's Aunt Pat and a couple of her sons and D-I-L came over so we had a nice visit in Lake Placid. Next we drove to Melbourne to visit Terri's niece, Nikki, and her family. Kurt took us to the air force base and gave us a mini tour and we ate at the dining hall. Nice, relaxing visit there. We spent a couple days in St. Augustine at the Golf Hall of Fame and then drove to Virginia to visit both of Terri's sisters. It was a nice surprise when we were able to stop in Appomattox. Terri was reading the book, Killing Lincoln, so it even made some connection for her! A tornado had just gone through the area 2 days before, so we saw some devastation from that, but it did not hit the national park.
